Full Day
For those serious about maximizing your experience, and your species count, we recommend a full day. On a full day, we can visit wetlands, desert, canyons, urban parks, and the mountains. In spring and fall, green spaces around the city can be teeming with migrants and the occasional vagrant. By visiting a combination of diverse habitats, it’s possible to see over one hundred species in a day. Most full days will include time spent in the city, as well as a retreat to Mountain Charleston in the afternoon. Ask about visiting areas south of Las Vegas for the localized Gilded Flicker, Curve-billed Thrasher, and Scott’s Oriole. Half Day
Our half day trips are ideal for those looking to sneak away from the Strip for a few hours. On a half day trip, we can look for classic desert birds such as Greater Roadrunner, Gambel’s Quail, Costa’s Hummingbird, Ladder-backed Woodpecker, and Crissal Thrasher. We typically visit at least two locations during our half day trips. But during migration, it may be worth spending a half day at a single migrant trap for those visiting from east of the Rockies and hoping for western songbirds.
